Trait Mindfulness and the Experience of Stuttering

Research Opportunity at Michigan State University: Summer 2023

How mindful are you? Do you wonder if that impacts your experience of stuttering? Researchers in the Department of Communicative Science and Disorders at Michigan State University are looking for adults 18+ who stutter who are not currently or have not previously engaged in mindfulness training (such as meditation) to participate in a research study examining mindfulness compared to adults who do not stutter and its association to the experience of stuttering.

As a participant in this study, you would be asked to: complete demographic questions, a series of questionnaires related to mindfulness, repetitive negative thinking, attentional characteristics, experiential avoidance, and the experience of stuttering.

The study will take approximately 30 – 45 minutes to complete.
